Dr Peter Howie

Dr. Peter is an adult sex educator with over 20 years of experience in creating transformative learning experiences for adults. He has been a qualified group therapist and psychodrama director through the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Psychodrama Association since 1999. Holding a PhD focused on how humans adapt to new experiences and learn most effectively, Dr. Peter combines nearly 30 years of training and practice in therapeutic work with groups and individuals using creative methods such as psychodrama, drama, and interpersonal engagement.

Dr. Peter’s extensive background in both practical experience and research underpins his approach to teaching ways to enhance and enrich sexual experiences. In his sessions, participants engage in challenging, intimate, and exploratory activities within a safe, structured, and confidential environment. He works with individuals, couples, and various family forms, providing a supportive space for growth and discovery.

Lets Talk About Sex

Recent research shows that relationships with better sexual communication enjoy enhanced sexual desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasms, erectile function, and overall sexual satisfaction, while experiencing less pain. In my adult sex education work, I often emphasize, “If you can’t talk about it, you probably shouldn’t be doing it.”

This workshop offers an interactive exploration of sexual communication, addressing why it can be so challenging and how to start improving it. Participants will learn strategies to navigate common obstacles and understand why professionals often fall short in this area. The session will be both playful and serious, reflecting the importance of discussing sex openly. Attendees will be introduced to specific models to aid communication and assess strengths and weaknesses in this crucial aspect. Suitable for both novices and erotic professionals, this workshop promises to be engaging, fun, and enlightening.
