Festival Offering:
Unravelling with Rope: An immersive journey into the sacred dance of rope; weaving bodies,
breath, and bliss at the delicate edge between ecstasy and ache. This workshop invites
participants into the art of Shibari/Kinbaku as a practice of trust, presence, and energetic
exchange. It emphasises conscious touch, deep somatic listening, vulnerability, and the dance
between holding and surrendering. We will be addressing essential safety principles, the
philosophy of this ancient art form, and exploring rope as meditation. We’ll look at the many
applications of rope and the myriad reasons people tie, including why Shibari can be a profound
therapeutic tool. We will deep dive into power dynamics, the sacred exchange of trust and
devotion, and the deeply entwined relationship between pleasure and pain — all woven into
how Shibari perfectly blends with the fundamental and practical elements of Tantra.
Participants will have the opportunity to discover how incredibly intimate the act of tying can be
— even with a complete stranger — often evoking a level of connection and presence that
surpasses the experience of sex itself. This workshop will be suitable for beginner, intermediate
and advanced.
