Regional markets, national parks, reserves, events, varied nightlife with lots of life music and festivals and retreats all around the year make this region interesting for culturally inclined people. We promote local presenters at our festival so you can find out more about this region as well as international speakers who enjoy coming here and love to experience the magic of Byron Bay. The Taste of love festival also hosts workshops locally working together with the many incredibly beautiful retreat centres in the northern rivers region.
Hot air ballooning, sky diving, horse riding, surf lessons, whale watching, mountain bike riding, fishing, rock climbing, kids activities, meditation, yoga, workshops, dolphin kayaking and hiking on the many paths in this region, marvelling and maybe even swimming in waterfalls are some of the many activities you can do here. Check out the recent book ‘Byron Trails’ written by local Mairead Cleary, available in most shops in Byron bay. It’s an excellent resource for the whole Northern Rivers Region making sure you too can find every hidden gem, lookout and waterfall to swim in! Sharing Byron Bay’s most hidden secrets with the world.
The Byron Bay region is home to a fantastic range of restaurants, cafes and takeaway food outlets. Many people here appreciate a healthy lifestyle and you will find many vegan, gluten free, raw and vegetarian options on the menus. One of our local favourites is the LSD. (soy milk, dandelion tea latte!!) Please try one before you leave and also request cold pressed coffee shots with almond milk at the Bayleaf cafe in town and after that grab some ‘naked treaties’ across the road a raw food specialists cafe not to be missed either. Mmmm To check out who we have chosen to work with for the upcoming 2017 festival, a 100% local all organic vegetarian kitchen ‘Veet Cuisine’.
Artists of all types have been attracted to Byron Bay due to its outstanding natural beauty and laid-back lifestyle. Many theatre shows, concerts and art exhibitions are held here supported by the local Community Centre directly in town. The Taste of Love festival works with the Community Centre since many years with a variety of events also the festival is held here in 2017 again due to the great Byron Bay hospitality. We are proud to say we are one of their sponsored events and we do co promote each other. There is also an ‘Artist trail’ you can take in the Industrial estate if you are keen to visit all the local artists and businesses that have established themselves out there, ranging from fashion design, Byron bay Cookies to paintings, furniture and jewellery. A booklet can be found at the Byron bay visitors centre.
We wish you a wonderful time in Byron Bay, so while you are here enjoy the festival and many of the other offerings this region has for you.
